Engraving is a process that demands a lot of skill and equipment. That’s why some engravers command extremely high prices. Other, better engravers know that they can be more competitive by keeping costs down and doing more business. The Internet certainly makes this process easy.
When my architecture firm designed a new school building for a Navy base, we had to meet stringent government requirements for signage. That meant we needed to supply ADA-compliant signs for every one of nearly a hundred rooms. Thanks to the long lead time we had to work with, the Internet allowed us to compare rates from engravers across the country for this work. We ended up working with an engraving shop in Pennsylvania who made an outstanding bid on the job – click here to check them out. One particular advantage they offered to us was the ability to work directly from CAD files, which gave us excellent control over signage being produced.
